2017 Mazda MX-5 Review: Why It's The Best Convertible In California

California, particularly Los Angeles, has an average of 35 rainy days a year. That's a small number, which makes a convertible a very hot item on the roads of the Golden State. Drivers won't mind taking the roof off to see the magnificent views of California, and it's also a good way to wait for the green light. So why is the 2017 Mazda MX-5 considered the best convertible in this beach lovin' state?

The 2017 Mazda MX-5 may be a Japanese car but it feels right at home in the streets of Beverly Hills. The car is so down low and its small dimensions make it feel like a European daily commuter. This makes the unit a head-turner since most cars in California are so big they can cause a solar eclipse. The latest Mazda MX-5 is one of the best daily driver cars on the road and it boasts a magnificent design. Not to mention that it won the 2016 Car of the Year award.

Why is the 2017 Mazda MX-5 California's best convertible to date?

Mazda brought back the classic 1989 aspects of the convertible and it paid off well with the 2017 Mazda MX-5 design. Car enthusiasts that can afford it have definitely visited Galpin Mazda's showroom. For drivers on the younger end of the spectrum, Galpin Auto Sports is well-known as the car garage where the famous Pimp My Ride (MTV) is produced.

David Gillum Jr., Galpin Mazda's general manager, says the 2017 MX-5 is unique. There is no other car like it on the market and it appeals to a broad age bracket, from 22 to 80, as reported by Express. Gillum added that owners only trade their MX-5s for a newer model, nothing else. He also elaborated on the owners and their cars' bond and special memories.

To wrap everything up, the review at Express also says that when someone drives the MX-5, particularly the 2017 model, the driver feel as though he's one with the car. It has a very quick response, particularly with the short-throw gear-level. They even threw in a comment that supercars that are far more expensive still struggle to achieve the same feeling motorists get when they drive the 2017 Mazda MX-5.
