2017 Mazda MX-5 RF And Roadster Customized Editions For Tokyo Auto Show Revealed

Two special editions of the popular and highly coveted 2017 Mazda MX-5 were unveiled today by the brand, and is said to be presented at the 2017 Tokyo Auto Show happening from January 15 to 17. On one hand, the MX-5 RF receives a new sports finish while the MX-5 Roadster receives the classic red of the original 1990 MX-5.

The two new versions of the 2017 Mazda MX-5 are based on each body option available in the model range Roadster and RF. It will have small styling changes, although it is not yet sure at the moment whether these changes will be seen in the regular range of the models or the new versions will be a limited special edition to be sold, according to CarBuzz.

The 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF special edition will be called Custom Style. It will be based on the hardtop version RF and features new bodywork details. In the front zone one can find a new splitter, which underlines the front bumper as a thin line, which rises in its central area, according to TopSpeed.

That same touch can be found again in the heel, where one can find the bass of the sides in the same black finish gloss of the new front splitter. This version has an adjustable height suspension, which also premieres a new stabilizer bar. It also has a new sports exhaust system which makes us think that power will be increased although nothing is confirmed yet about the 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF custom style performance.

For its part, the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Roadster special edition receives a very special finish. While it shows no styling difference or new element as the previous Roadster, the MX-5 Roadster is presented in Classic Red, one of the colors that made up the original color palette of the Mazda MX-5 in 1990, the first and most iconic model.

A color that has probably been missed by many fans and customers of the brand, since the only available so far was the metallic red. The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Roadster special edition does not have any other difference compared to the regular one, but we just need to wait and see if some surprises will be under the hood.
