Watch The Volvo Iron Knight 2400hp Truck Take On The Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 Race Car [VIDEO]

Volvo has just released a video that puts two of its most powerful racing machines face-to-face. Watch the Volvo Iron Knight 2400hp truck take on the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 race car. And believe us, the result could not be better! One can watch the race on the video below, but first, here's an introduction to the challengers.

On one side is the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 that participates in the World Touring Car Championship and is a legendary racing car of the brand. It is equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox, delivers 400 horsepower, has front-wheel drive and weighs 1,100 kg.

On the other side is the 4.5 ton Volvo Iron Knight that is able to run from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 276 km/h. It holds two speed records for trucks in the following categories: 500 meters (13.71 seconds - at an average speed of 131.29 km/h) and 1,000 meters (21, 29 seconds - at an average speed of 169 km/h). It's an incredible record and it makes this "monster" a real speed machine, according to Carscoops.

With this background, it was clear that the protagonist of the WTCC was not going to get it easy in this competition divided into two tests, one of acceleration in the classic quarter mile and another in a drag race. Both the Volvo Iron Knight and the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 were driven by experienced pilots who gave a tremendous display of both vehicles.

With the asphalt track Mantorp (Sweden) wet due to the rain, creating an even more epic atmosphere, neither was going to get too comfortable with their simple drives. But it was determined what would be faster, if the TC1 front - wheel drive, which will fight with Honda next season in the WTCC, or 6,000 Nm of torque truck, achieved thanks to a six - cylinder engine online animated by up to four turbos.

In the first test of acceleration, the Volvo Iron Knight wins. For the drag race, it came out first at full speed and then seconds later, the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 comes in full throttle, maneuvered curves perfectly and finally surpassed the first, according to PrimeMover. But can it win the race? It's best to see for yourself.
