2012 Los Angeles Auto Show: BMW To Display Two Winter Themed Cars

BMW announced on Wednesday that they are planning to make a splash at the Los Angeles auto show in November by introducing two vehicles that have been designed to handle winter conditions better than any car they have manufactured before.

Although the company chose an odd place to debut the winter vehicles, both cars have been getting a lot of attention and are sure to be one of the highlights from the auto show.

The first is called the BMW X1 Concept K2 Power Ride which goes on sale this November. It is easy to tell the difference between the two vehicles thanks to a lively Valencia Orange metallic paint job that the company decided to go with. A unique graphics package inspired by one of K2's limited edition snow skis is located all around the outside of the car as well.

Skiers will enjoy the concept's unique roof structure, which includes two luggage boxes complete with a Harman Kardon sound system, and a ski carrier. The car design features 19-inch wheels in gray and a BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system to make sure drivers will be able to get the vehicle around in all sorts of conditions they may run into.

The interior has a first-class 500-watt stereo sound system with a 500-watt stereo and subwoofer. The vehicle is equipped with an external microphone, which is designed to make things easier on the driver especially when driving through a bad snow storm.

Not as much information has been released for the second vehicle however and still doesn't have a release date.

The XL Power Ride Edition will feature an exterior design in silver, a sport leather steering wheel and 18-inch wheels. The limited edition vehicle will come with BMW's roof and rail storage package and all-weather floor mats. Customers will also get a custom pair of K2 LTD Power Ride skis which won't be available to the public.

Interested customers are encouraged to place their order for the vehicle as soon as possible because it will not be available after the winter months are over.

The Los Angeles Auto Show is taking place on Nov. 30 through Dec. 9 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
