An all-new 'Glossy Black' variant could be in the offing for one of Samsung's top smartphones for the year, the Galaxy S7 Edge, if recently surfaced leaks are anything to go by.
The alleged Glossy Black Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge model that was recently spotted and leaked in live images by a reliable tech tipster in China on Weibo (via Gadgets 360), is said to feature a colossal 128GB of internal storage.
Interestingly, the new color bears a striking resemblance to the glossy black theme Apple used on its recently launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones.
There's hearsay that Samsung's reason behind introducing an all-new color and beefing up the internal storage is to actually take on the new iPhones. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is currently up for grabs in Black Onyx color and the Glossy Black will be simply another version of Black for the device.
To recall, during the iPhone 7 launch, Apple revealed that it had to devise a completely new nine-step process to bring about the desired high-gloss finish for the latest iPhones, according to Express.
There is no word on whether or not the South Korean handset maker will adopt a similar finishing process for its new color as well. Nevertheless, it looks quite appealing in the leaked images.
Not too long ago, Samsung introduced a brand new Blue Coral color model for the Galaxy S7 Edge in its homeland, South Korea. The Blue Coral color theme was propelled to popularity with the now-defunct, Galaxy Note 7, which was the first smartphone to boast the color.
Aside from the aforesaid Black Onyx color variant, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is currently up for grabs in Pink Gold, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium, and White Pearl colors.
There were reports of a few explosion incidents involving the Galaxy S7 recently.
Samsung didn't waste any time to issue a pre-emptive statement explaining that the Galaxy S7 lineup was free from any sort of danger and sent out pop-up messages to its Galaxy S7 users in a bid to restore confidence to their phone, and reassure that there was no recall for their smartphones.
