Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifiglio: Blinded Driver Sets Record In Silverstone Lap With Vehicle

Driving with windows covered by a black vinyl is dangerous and thrilling at the same time. Ed Morris drove the Alfa Romeo's Giulia Quadrifoglio, a 505-horsepower turbocharge V6 monster, the car's windows was covered with black vinyl to add some drama in setting a record. The driver set a record of 1:44:2 in the seven-turn 1.64-mile track.

Morris did not finish the track on his own, he was followed by another driver who was David Brise who radioed the directions to Morris to be able to finish the lap. Both of the drivers did not finish the lap in just one try. Morris and Brise took two days to feel the Silverstone lap and finish it with a record. The last record that was set in the Silverstone lap was 65 years ago. Nino Farina, a Formula One Champion, set the record of 1:44 in an Alfa Romeo 159 in 1951, according to Auto Week.

This stunt was made because Alfa Romeo would like to show-off its high-powered, rear-wheeled sports sedan. The crazy stunt was made by professionals, non-professional drivers should not pull the said stunt, driving while blinded is really dangerous, according to Insider Car News.

The seductive luxury sports-sedan car holds a beast inside. Its engines roar its Ferrari-derived 505-horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6. The eye-catching sports car also have a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic option. It also offers four selectable drive modes which adjust suspension damping and throttle response.

The stability control is fully disabled during race mode where the Quadrifoglio would be more than happy to give you a powerful drift. Drifting is not a problem with this car, Quadrifoglio's chassis has intensely impressive grip, the fast-ratio steering works well on the track but the stability control system is the king for this car, according to Car and Driver.
