Xiaomi Mi 5c Release Date, Specs & Latest Leaks [VIDEO]

Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce a brand new device in its Mi 5 lineup; the Xiaomi Mi 5c. Following an exclusive debut of the Xiaomi Mi4c in the company's homeland in 2015, tech pundits hazard a guess that the Chinese smartphone maker will unveil its next flagship around the same time this year.

If these speculations proved to be true, Xiaomi Mi5c release date may be just around the corner. Latest leaks surrounding the Mi5c release date, specs, and other details further cement these rampant rumors.

Following a leaked pricing for the Mi5c that suggest the phone will start at CNY 999 (about $144 or €136), the Xiaomi Mi5c has been spotted in hands-on images that recently surfaced on Chinese social networking platform Weibo.

The impending device is not likely to boast specs identical to those of the Mi 5s, which is expected to remain a lower-end alternative, according to GSM Arena.

On Thursday, Nov. 24, an alleged spec sheet for the Xiaomi Mi5c surfaced in China. Several leaks surrounding the alleged successor of Xiaomi's Mi 5 series have been making rounds online. The most speculated aspect of the rumored device is Xiaomi's own SoC dubbed as Pincone, Xiaomi Today reported.

Recent leaks further suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 5c will sport a 5.5-inch touchscreen, augmented further with narrow bezels. The device will come with a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of storage, and NFC support.

The Mi 5c will feature a 12MP primary camera and an 8MP front shooter for the selfie addicts. Furthermore, it will run MIUI 8 (Android 6.0) as the operating system and sport a fingerprint sensor mounted on the front. The Mi 5c will also showcase a 2.5D glass on top of its screen.

As far as Xiaomi Mi 5c release date is concerned, the device will be announced in an event scheduled to take place on Nov. 30. Interestingly, that will coincide with the debut of Meizu's Flyme OS 6, and at least one of its new smartphone (probably the X).
