SEAT Leon Cupra Major Updates: AWD and 296 Bph Power, Upgrades And More! [VIDEO]

SEAT automobile has been manufacturing cars since the 1950's, with their head office located in Montreal, Spain. The car updates of this foreign vehicle do not escape car enthusiasts and a lot of the automobiles produced throughout the years were considered favorites among car dealers and owners alike. It also helps to be a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, a leading German automobile manufacturer.

One of the much-anticipated car upgrades is for the small family car SEAT Leon Cupra. According to Car Magazine, SEAT Leon Cupra's new developments include an increase in power of 296 bhp and an all-wheel drive system. The all-wheel drive option, which was previously not available for the SEAT Leon Cupra models who stuck with a front-wheel drive set-up, allows the driver to control the maneuvering ease when encountered with road corners and standing-start tractions.

The all-wheel drive SEAT Leon Cupra upgrade for the next generation vehicles under this series are only available for the ST estate model, though. As suggested by Andrew Shepherd, an expert personnel from SEAT's technical center, the front-wheel drive setup of the SEAT Leon Cupra hatchback was down to marketing strategy. Audi S3 and VW Golf R, two prominent vehicles by the company, offer AWD and 300bhp from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. To avoid competition for other products, SEAT Leon Cupra hatchback remained as front-wheel drives. VW and SEAT do not close the possibility of upgrading this feature in the SEAT Leon Cupra hatch, though. If the market has the opening for it, they could readily produce an AWD for the SEAT Leon Cupra hatch.

Another feature added to the SEAT Leon Cupra's next generation of vehicles is digital instrumentation, which is also seen in Audi's Virtual Cockpit. According to Car Keys, the digital instrumentation added is also similar to the latest Volkswagen Golf. The newly upgraded SEAT Leon Cupra hatch and ST are expected to be released early next year in 2017.
