Dodge Challenger Shakedown Gives 485hp In A '71 Classic Body

The Dodge Challenger Shakedown is one of the best cars that had been showcased at the 2016 SEMA Autoshow at Las Vegas. It gives the classic 1971 body a modern Hemi V8 spitting a beastly 485hp. A dream car if one will ask us.

For those who want to have a glimpse of this beauty, SEMA is still opened until this weekend at Las Vegas and will showcase awesome cars like this Dodge Challenger.

Dodge Challenger Shakedown: A Beautiful And Powerful Frankenstein

Like a Frankenstein it was, the Dodge Challenger Shakedown Concept presented at SEMA in Las Vegas with the intent to discover what ancient and modern components can coexist today. The guys at Mopar have developed a series of pieces that will allow the current Dodge Challenger to resemble its counterpart in 1971 and successfully created a beautiful and powerful monster.

The changes are obvious, according to Jalopnik. The front and rear lights, air intake hood, removing the door handles and the instrument panel, with its traditional single aspect and six back-lit areas. With these small changes work the miracle is achieved, but there is more. To give it a more aggressive look, Dodge has reduced the suspension, the front axle mounted 19-inch wheels, while the rear raises the figure to 20. As for the engine, we are talking about a V8 with 485 horses and bred to which a gearbox six-speed automatic is associated.

As a good Challenger Concept, this also has racing DNA, and that is why customization includes a safety cage and a fuel cell competition. An elegant beast that includes the best aspect of the 70 technology and advances of the XXI century, according to Maxim. Who would not want something like that?

Other Mopar Vehicles at SEMA Car Show

Since it is one of the leading consolidators for models of brands belonging to FCA, it was a requirement that the guys at Mopar should present spectacular cars in SEMA. Together with the Dodge Challenger Shakedown comes other 5 more cars.

The Jeep CJ66 Mopar has a similar to the outer Jeep Wrangler TJ as well as a long list of accessories Mopar for the Wrangler, all seasoned with the finished exterior paint Copper Canyon and a custom interior with seats Viper. Meanwhile, the Dodge Durango has become more aggressive by Mopar, who decided to equip it with a Hemi V8 6.4-liter engine and an automatic eight-speed transmission. Viper seats also find shelter in Durango.

Now for Ram and Macho Power Wagon, a beast with a huge bed load and a powerful Hemi V8 6.4-liter engine and 37-inch tires to cope with any obstacle. On the other hand, the Ram ProMaster Pit Stop is the vehicle that all racing teams need, a kind of mobile pub with bar stools and tap beer. Finally, the Chrysler Pacifica Cadence displays up to 100 components Mopar Accessories catalog, helping to become the dream of every surfer.
