Battle Of The Builder SEMA Show 2016: Top 21 Cars Include Toyota Extreme Build

Toyota has taken things to the next level as two of Toyota's Extreme build (Extreme Corolla and Prius G) was honored among over 200 entries at the third annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show Battle of the Builders Competition held November 1, 2016, at Torrance, Calif. The two Toyota Extreme build came among the Top 21 overall entries.

Gordon Ting of Beyond Marketing, the builder of Prius G, was invited by Toyota to challenge the myopic notion that a hybrid vehicle cannot be a performance car. Gordon built this vehicle to hold its own on a race track. Prius G is a world's top-selling hybrid car, according to Toyota News. It has established a reputation for setting the standard for hybrid excellence. It is also known for its fuel efficiency and reliability.

The Prius G pulled 0.99 g on the skid pad during testing in the Southern California, which gave the vehicle the capability to challenge other high-performance sports cars on the racetrack. The Prius G features among other things a torsional rigidity, a lower coefficient of gravity and a more agile handling.

The Extreme Corolla, on the other hand, is a sports coupe built by Jeremy Lookofsky of Cartel Custom. The Extreme Corrolla blew the minds of audiences when unveiled during the press conference at SEMA. It featured a major transformation converting the vehicle from a 4-door sedan to a 2-door sports coupe. The interior features a floating center console and an extensive JBL audio system.

It is mind blowing that the Corolla Extreme and the Prius G among the prime 21 builds, according to Toyota Newsroom. Steve Appelbaum, the National Engagement Marketing Manager for Toyota Motor Sales, said: "The Battle of the Builders is the best of the best and we are thrilled that the XTREME Corolla and the Prius G were selected among the Top 21 builds." he also said "Jeremy and Gordon have worked night and day on these cars and they truly deserve the recognition they have received today."

The Top 10 finalists of the Battle of the Builders competition will be announced today Wednesday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. PDT at SEMA Central in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
