2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid; 5 Reasons To Hate And Why Toyota RAV4 May Beat It

There is a lot to like about the new 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid. It's now at around 33 to 35 mpg, city to highway. It will be available this fall just a few weeks late of the 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. A quick glance at the new SUV - it is reminiscent of the Murano. The cross-over SUV from Nissan now carries LED headlights.

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid now carries a newly designed grill. It also has crisp lines on its hood. The integrated fog lamps now sport a new squared-off look. The Rogue Hybrid now has a D-shaped steering wheel. It just means that it is now flat on the bottom, which allows increased control, according to AutoBlog.

This type of steering wheel is commonly seen on the sports car. Nissan debuted this feature on their Maxima earlier. However, all good points may or may not have negative counterparts.

It comes with a CVT mode

Nissan's "Continuously variable transmission" mode gets mixed reviews. One who is not used to this will totally be annoyed. However, others seem to have no issues with it.

The pleasantly annoying self-adjusting seats.

The seats are so efficient that it becomes annoying. This is something that a rider may need to get used with.

Reduced trunk space in the cargo area.

The battery is included at the rear part of the car. It will mean that there will be a reduced trunk space.

Power source issues

The Nissan Rogue seems to have an issue with power shifts between its gas engine and electric motor. The 2017 Toyota RAV4 hybrid, on the other hand, has a seamless planetary gear set, that makes the shift almost unnoticeable.

It is not compatible with "Apple CarPlay " and "Android Auto"

The Nissan Rogue appears to target young start-up families. However, it is odd that it is not compatible with "Apple Car Play" or "Android Auto." No details about the 2017 Toyota RAV4 's compatibility as of writing.

These are just minor issues. However, to stay ahead of the game Nissan has to adapt to technology changes which other automakers have clearly done.

Overall the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid offers a pleasant riding experience, with guaranteed fuel-efficiency. Share your thoughts below!
