Fawad Khan News: Pakistani Actor Signs New Bollywood Film Despite Ban?

Many Indians opposed a recent ban on Pakistani actors. The ban was imposed due to the ongoing tension between the two countries. Many did not like the fact that Fawad Khan had to leave India simply because he had a Pakistani passport.

The debate over the much-adored Pakistani actor has been going on. Some believe artists should be exempted from politics. But, some think India's decision to ban Fawad Khan among other actors is totally justified in the present situation.

Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Karan Johar are already under fire for opposing the ban. Now, renowned filmmaker Shyam Benegal wants to sign Fawad Khan for his next movie.

Benegal's next is called "Ye Raste Hain Pyar Ke" (Roads of Love). It is apparently based on India-Pakistan relations. Harsh Narayan is going to direct the movie about two musicians who discover themselves through a cross-border journey.

Benegal feels this is the best time to plan a movie on such a theme. He is also determined to cast Fawad Khan as one of the leads.

"I believe there couldn't be a better time to put out a film that explores love and peace and promotes humanity," Bollywood Life quotes the veteran filmmaker.

Two big budget Bollywood films have been under scanner for having Pakistani actors in those. One is Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," and the other is "Raees" starring Shah Rukh Khan. Johar's film has Fawad Khan in a major role.
