'The Strain' Season 4 Comes Back To Fox, Series On Its Last Legs?

FX has announced that the fourth season of "The Strain" will premiere around the summer of next year. Although the series has been lodged to run for only three years, the creative producers found that an extra season would tell the story far better. In fact, they have revealed that the final season will be a dramatic one. What do you think do they have in store?

Last Tuesday, FX network president, Chuck Hogan, revealed that the network is more than proud of what "The Strain" has brought to the audience for three consecutive seasons. Because of such, they have confirmed "The Strain" season four to happen next year.

Season 4 Spoilers

As reported by Variety, "The Strain" season four will be released by summer of 2017 still under the creative genius input of showrunners Carlton Cuse, Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. In an interview, Cuse admitted that the series was supposed to run for only three years. Meaning to say, it was only lodged to tell the story for three full seasons.

Storyline

Now on its mid-season for season three, "The Strain" season four will continue telling the story of the human race fighting for their survival against the strigoi in New York City. Without the guidance and protection of the federal government, the thriller drama was said to conclude with a dramatic and unexpected ending, reports revealed.

When Will The Series End?

In other news, Deadline reported that the airing of "The Strain" season four was a creative decision made not by FX but by the producers themselves. Although they were granted another season, FX Network president of original programming Nick Grad also announced that it will be the last installment for the series. However, Grad did reveal that the finale would be one to watch out for as the creative producers are cooking up an extra-special series-ender for the audience.

"The Strain" season three is currently airing on FX for its midseason episodes, the latest of which would be aired this October 2, 2016. Furthermore, "The Strain" season four would release by summer of 2017.
