JDM Car Updates: Turbocharged Honda Civic Hatch Bound For Test Drive, Price Starts At $20,535

The legendary Honda Civic Hatchback is back as a competitive model for the brand once again. As the brand new 2016 Honda Civic vehicles were taken out for a test drive in Pakistan, riders were impressed with the make and models' upgrades. What new for the JDM cars?

Nawai-i Waqt Group GM Marketing head Bilal Mehmood ordered the test drive of 2016 Honda Civic models in Pakistan this month. As the drivers maneuvered the vehicles from Lahore to Islamabad and back, they attested that the unique performance of the car would enable the model to become more competitive in the market to date.

The JDM Cars Out For A Test Drive In Pakistan

As reported by Nation Pakistan, Mehmood attested the trend setting features of the new 2016 Honda Civic models such as its push start/smart entry, its rear entertainment system, and its remote engine starter. Furthermore, the drivers themselves were able to ascertain that the models had Electric Parking Brake (EPB), Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), along with a Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).

Because of these features, the test drivers, along with Mehmood suggested that the brand new 2016 Honda Civic franchise has proven itself to be a competitor in the high-performance automobile market at present. Furthermore, Noriaki Abe, the chief operating officer of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., also said that the Pakistan automobile market has great potential to grow and that the franchise could possibly bloom in that particular market as well.

In other news, Car and Driver reported that since many car enthusiasts were not too happy about the 2016 Honda Civic Hatchback series to be one only available with an automatic transmission, the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will, thankfully, bring back the manuals again.

Because of this additional feature, the price for the unit has increased to about $20,535 per unit, which will have a manual transmission with a new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The Specs of the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback

The Civic LX hatch will have a standard six-speed manual transmission connected to its engine, which is able to produce 174 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 167 lb. ft. of torque at 1,800 rpm. For those who would want the models to have a self-shifting feature, they could add $800 for such.

Other specs of the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback include automatic climate control, steering-wheel-mounted audio control, and 26 cubic feet of cargo space behind the car's 60/40 split-folding rear seat.

Brand New Members To The Franchise

The Civic Sport and Sport Touring models have also joined the JDM team for its 2017b franchise - cars that are able to rev up 6 horsepower from Honda's 1.5-liter four-turbo engine priced at $22,135 for the sport with a six-speed manual transmission, center-mounted exhaust outlets, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever, and can generate 10 lb. ft. of torque.

As the brand new 2016 Honda Civic models were out for a test drive and with the upcoming 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback upgraded with high-end specs, the JDM cars are back to dominate the road once again.
