2017 Toyota Corolla Gets Design Changes And New Equipment To Mark Its 50th Anniversary

A special edition 2017 Toyota Corolla featuring exterior design updates, new interior equipments and stronger safety features was announced yesterday as part of Toyota Corolla's 50th anniversary celebration. Half a century and 45 million units sold globally, the Corolla wants to further increase their success with this awesome updates, which will be sold for about $20000.

Special Upgrades Available

The 2017 Toyota Corolla gets a facelift with a new front grilles, LED headlamps and 16-inch wheels available for the lower spec models and 17-inch alloy wheels for higher models. It will be available in 10 exterior colors and eight trims.

Inside the updated Corolla will have new fabric upholstery and redesigned HVAC controls, climate control and air vents. New color schemes for the cabin will also be available and the seats will be the new Softex sport seats with premium fabric inserts. When it comes to entertainment, gone are the days where the Corolla only has an AM radio in it. The 2017 Toyota Corolla will have Bluetooth connectivity and an Entune audio system with navigation assistant and a seven-inch touchscreen.

Under the hood, the engine will continue to be 1.8 liter four-cylinder but with slight modifications it can now reach 140hp instead of just 132hp.

Safety First

The key to Toyota Corolla's success has always been its ruggedness, safety and reliability. With this three core in mind, the biggest leap the 2017 Toyota Corolla has is in its safety. The Toyota Safety Sense-P system was added and will include pre-collision warning, pedestrian detection, steering assistant for lane departure, radar-based dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams.

This new safety system is supposed to be present on all Toyota and Lexus models that will be available by 2020. Thus putting the 2017 Toyota Corolla ahead of the game when it comes to safety.

Toyota Corolla 50th Edition

The special edition 2017 Toyota Corolla is not the only hot-selling Corolla Toyota has in store. A 50th Anniversary edition was also announced and it will be based on the 2016 MY Corolla SE 17 inch alloy wheels, Dark Gray inserts and Machine finish, LED headlights and 50th Anniversary Edition badging on the exterior will be added to this 50th Anniversary edition while other details are not yet confirmed.

The 50th anniversary edition of the Toyota Corolla will exclusively be sold in the United States and only 8000 units will be manufactures. Loyal Toyota fans should wait and fall in line until next year to get their hands on this.
