Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce To Grace Paris Motor Show, Car To Shun American Market?

Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce, the star of the Alfa Romeo booth at the Paris Motor Show next week, had just been announced. This special edition of the Giulia sportscar sedan features some visual upgrades over the standard model as well as new engines, automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive system that is set to wow.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Stands Out

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce brings sportiness to the table, looking a little closer to the Quadrifoglio Verde. It will feature a special bumper design black shiny details and a unique diffuser look. It also has a dual exhaust, xenon headlights and 19 inches wheels. Inside, one can see sports seats in black leather and aluminum trims on the dashboard.

The two available engines are gasoline and diesel, both with automatic eight - speed transmission. The first is a two liter four-cylinder that develops 280 hp at 5,250 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 2,250 laps, while the turbo diesel option is a block 2.2 liter made of aluminum 210 hp at 3,500 rpm and 470 Nm from 1,750 laps.

Both are combined with AWD Q4 technology, a system that distributes the torque between the axles available depending on the needs. Under normal circumstances, the Giulia Veloce behaves like a rear-wheel drive vehicle because 100% of torque is sent to the rear axle, but if grip is lost up to 60% of that pair, it can go to stop the front wheels.

Among the features to watch out for the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce is the dual zone climate control, connect multimedia system with screen 6.5 inches, cruise control and limiter and the driving assistant system of Alfa.

Presenting the Giulia Family

Two Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce units will be seen at the Paris Motor Show next week, one glittery color Blue Misano (the petrol) and one in gray Silverstone (diesel). It will be accompanied by two versions of the Giulia Super and the Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde.

Also announced today is the new Alfa Romeo Giulia Advanced Efficiency with 132kW 2.2 litre turbo diesel and an eight-speed automatic, which will be available in early 2017. Thanks to revised transmission ratios, tweaked engine internals, and 205/60 low rolling resistance tyres with unique alloy wheels, fuel economy has been improved to 4.2L/100km.

US Wont Get The Guilia Veloce

Considering that the standard version hasnt reach the US shores yet, more bad news is coming as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce is only slated to be sold for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Now that's something worthy of some frustration. Alfa Romeo fans who are eager to get their hands on one of these must book theri tickets and buy one in the foreign lands when it hits the market.
