Test Drive Result: The Chevy Bolt Shows Off As The Best Electric Car In The Market

The news is out, it was tested and it delivered. The Chevy Bolt is by now taking the lead as the best electric car in the market.

Of course, this release of the Chevrolet Bolt EV will be compared to another electric car, the Tesla Models S and X who's been a crowd favorite ever since it was released.

The Tesla Models gives you 208 miles on a single charge which is impressive, but the Chevy just pushed it in the corner with an EPA rating of 238 miles on a single charge.

Chris Taylor from Mashable got the chance to drive this new car on its first test drives by Chevrolet, and according to him, it is the future of General Motors.

He took the car on a test drive on the curvy, difficult roads between Monterey and Santa Barbara. He finished the drive of 242 miles total, already surpassing the 238 miles EPA rating.

But the vehicle didn't stop there and still managed to take another 23 miles making the single charge travel 265 miles.

"This is a big deal. When an electric car can go a total of 265 not-very-carefully-driven miles without needing so much as a gulp from the grid, tectonic plates have shifted in the auto industry." Said Taylor.

"The Bolt has passed an important middle-class milestone: you can drive for a full and harried work week, at the distance of the average American commute, with miles to spare for evening jaunts, and you won't have to think about plugging in until Saturday."

This performance is true enough, a game changer, looking at the mileage alone. But this is not the only thing that the Chevy Bolt offers according to Taylor. Though lacking the aesthetics and all over "finesse" that the Tesla offers, the Chevy is a comfortable car, giving justice to the work that the Chevy engineers made for the seats alone.

More than that, this mass produced car will cost no more than $30,000 after tax deductions, making this electric car much affordable.

General Motors really made it on the spot right now, pushing boundaries with this power-packed Chevy Bolt.
