Elon Musk Seeks Help On Twitter, Admits SpaceX’s Rocket Explosion Too Complex To Solve On His Own

A week after the explosion of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk still does not have an explanation for what happened. The very first official statement came from Twitter early Friday, seeking help from everybody who captured or photographed the SpaceX explosion. In a bold and honest statement, CEO Elon Musk admitted that the incident is too complex to solve on his own.

SpaceX Explosion Still A Mystery

Last September 1, a Falcon 9 rocket was completely destroyed after an explosion during refueling operations, and company engineers, after a week, still do not know exactly what caused the SpaceX explosion. The incident can be seen in the video below.

"Still working on the Falcon fireball investigation. Turning out to be the most difficult and complex failure we have ever had in 14 years." Elon Musk posted on his official Twitter account.

Explosions related to supply routines usually have to do with fuel coming in contact with any heat source or some kind of spark. However, according to Musk, the operation was being carried with full caution like so many others before it. The rockets were turned off and there is nothing apparent to cause detonation.

However, a low noise, just before the explosion, might be the key to understanding what exactly happened. The main hypothesis is that the rocket was hit by something, and that caused the failure or malfunction.

Support From Others Highly Appreciated

The impending mystery seemed to have urged Elon Musk to post to Twitter and ask for help from NASA, the civil aviation agency of the United States and to all people who have images or any recordings at the time of the accident.

The explosion shook buildings kilometers away from the launch pad at Cape Canaveral, located in the state of Florida, and could be heard even further.

"Support & advice from @NASA, @FAA, @AFPAA & others much appreciated. Please email any recordings of the event to report@spacex.com" Musk tweeted.

SpaceX now tries to collect as many records as possible to understand what happened. While investigations are underway, however, all SpaceX launches are suspended, since the investigation could take nine months to a year to complete. This is a major setback in the plans Musk has, and for the investors who already spent money in SpaceX's space exploration projects.
