Chrysler sales roll continues, up 30% in May

May has been a good month for sales at Chrysler.  According a an article in USA Today, a spokesperson for the company says its U.S. sales in May rose 30% to more than 150,000 vehicles and that it saw sales gains for all its brands.

It marked a 12th consecutive month of sales gains of more than 20% for the company, which has gained about two percentage points in U.S. market share to nearly 11% And it comes as Chrysler prepares later this month to roll out its key new car introduction for the year, the Fiat-based Dodge Dart, that it has aimed to get the company back in the game in small cars and go after younger consumers.

All the companies brands -- Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat posted year-over-year gains in May. Fiat was up most, 128% to a new record month as the tiny 500 finally gains some traction. But Chrysler was up 81%, with the 200 sedan up 87% and the 300 up 140% for its best May since 2007. Jeep brand was up 24%, with Wrangler leading with a 44% gain over last May. Dodge brand was up 14% and Ram Truck -- which has a refreshed pickup coming this summer -- rose 29%
