Land Rover is proud to call its latest Range Rover Evoque as the "world's first premium compact SUV convertible," according to the Land Rover website. Unlike the conventional SUV vehicles in the market, Evoque stands out from the rest because of its unique feature that has captured the attention of car lovers. Sport utility vehicles are usually not designed for luxury but the new convertible model combines glamor and convenience.

The Evoque Convertible has not compromised all the off-road capabilities that drivers are looking for. According to The Sunday Times Driving, the experts who first tested the new model which is set to be released this year left many positive feedbacks about the car. One positive note that they gave is its loading capacity. Unlike other convertible cars which only have two seats, Evoque can accommodate four passengers. The hip-height sitting position allows them to have a clear view of the sceneries while traveling.

In terms of mechanical features, the convertible car has four-cylinder all-aluminium lumps. Drivers can choose between the 236bhp Si4 petrol and the 178bhp TD4 engine. The latter is quite cheaper because of its 55mpg and CO2 emissions of 149g/km.

Evoque also has InControl Touch Pro system with a 10.2-inch touchscreen that supports multimedia features. Both versions of the convertible car have LED headlights and massaging seats to give comfort to the drivers during long distance travels.

While many love the Range Rover Evoque, critics have pointed out some disadvantages of the vehicle. According to Auto Express, the model can only hold 251 liters which is practically smaller compared to the 420 liters capacity of the non-convertible model. The news portal also added that it is slow at 0 to 60 mph time of 7.8 seconds. The top speed is 112 mph.

Critics are not also amazed by the time taken for the car to take its roof down. It takes 18 seconds to put the roof down and 21 seconds to bring it back. In addition, the mirror produces a whistling sound when travelling at high speed.

Despite the drawbacks, Range Rover Evoque is expected to be a hit since it is the first of its kind. The car is priced at $50,475 in the United States which does not include the shipment fees. Customers located in the United Kingdom can buy the HSE dynamic model and the HSE Dynamic Lux model at £47,500 ($68,244) and £51,700 ($74,279), respectively.
