Mercedes-Benz Will Bring the 603-HP G65 AMG to the United States

News blip: The fastest, most outrageous Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV has been outdone, in an act of one-upmanship. And the one-upper was none other than Mercedes-Benz.

At the New York auto show, the German marque announced that the 603-hp G65 AMG sport-utility vehicle would officially go on sale in the United States. It will supplement, not replace, the 536-hp G63 AMG already on sale. We imagine the experience of handling a brick-like G-class with aircraft-grade power will be fantastic and extraordinary, given the capability shown in the G500 4x4 Square. The G65 AMG, like other -65 AMG models, uses a 6.0-liter biturbo V-12

The announcement of the G65 AMG was nearly overshadowed by the first appearance of the production version of the 2016 GLE-class SUV—a refresh of the M-class SUV under Mercedes-Benz's new nomenclature—and several Mercedes-AMG GT S models also on stage.
