Pierce Brosnan Stars in Kia Sorento Super Bowl Ad (WATCH)

Pierce Brosnan will star in Kia's Super Bowl commercial this year, parodying his roles as an action film star.

The 60-second "Unexpected" spot is schedule to air during the third quarter of the big game, according to the automaker. In the commercial, Brosnan can be seen discussing a mission with his agent and wrongly assumes he'll be required to do some stunt work with the new Kia Sorento.

"What's the mission?" Brosnan says to his agent in the ad, which can be viewed below.

Brosnan has starred in a number of action movies, including four James Bond films and the TV show Remington Steele, making him a perfect choice for the big campaign.

"Before and after the Super Bowl, Kia's "The Perfect Getaway Vehicle" campaign will incorporate multiple components, including TV, cinema, digital and social media," said Tim Chaney, VP of Marketing, Kia Motors America to AutoWorldNews. "The Super Bowl spot featuring Pierce Brosnan will air as a 30-second version as well."

Kia is one of at least seven automakers who have purchased time during the 2015 Super Bowl. Other brands that have been confirmed for the big game include: Nissan, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.

Kia's commercial was created by David & Goliath, the duo behind Kia's 2014 Matrix spot that air during the 2014 Super Bowl starring Laurence Fishburne.

Recent Super Bowl advertisers who have decided to sit this year out include Audi, Hyundai, Volkswagen, General Motors, Lincoln, Honda and Acura. Some automaker have still not announced if they will or won't advertise during the Super Bowl yet.

Kia is excitied to be one of the many advertisers this year however.

"Kia is returning to the Super Bowl in 2015 for the sixth consecutive year (7th spot) as part of the launch of our all-new premium CUV - the 2016 Sorento," said Chaney said to AutoWorldNews. "Advertising in the Super Bowl affords Kia the opportunity to reach a massive audience of more than 110 million people who want to see clever commercials."

Nine companies purchased ad time for 11 brands last year. Seth Winter, NBC executive vice president, said that at least 15 first time sponsors have been lined up for the big game this year, according to CNN.

For this year's Super Bowl, NBC is asking for approximately $4.5 million for a 30-second spot.

Super Bowl XLIX is scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 6:30 pm on NBC. The big game features the Seattle Seahawks defending their Super Bowl title against the New England Patriots.
