Infiniti provided an intriguing look at its Infiniti Q60 coupe concept this week, which is set to be on display during the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The current Q60 is actually the old G37, just under a new name since it was party of the company's holdovers from its previous naming scheme and design strategy. It's still based on the vehicle the Q50 was supposed to replace however which is what makes the automaker's announcement so important.
The first glimpse at the new concept version of the coupe this set to take place January in Detroit that previews the next-gen two-door.
Since Infiniti has plans to send the new Q60 to dealerships by the end of next year, expect the concept to be pretty close to the final production model.
Infiniti released a teaser photo Thursday showing the concept in a mysterious silhouette. From the photo, we are able to see that the new Q60's design features muscular lines and full-sized wheels place out at the corners of the Concept, which makes it an unmistakable design statement.
Rumors indicate that the shape revealed in the teaser photo are extremely close to the actual design of the production model. The latest concept supposedly builds upon the design language seen on recent Infiniti concepts like the Q30 and Q80 Inspiration, though Infiniti design chief Alfonso Albaisa said in November that the new car will resemble the final production version of the vehicle set to be released in 2015, probably for the 2016 model year, according to MotorAuthority.com.
Infiniti indicated in a company release that the concept simply foreshadows the styling cues that customers might get to experience in the future from the luxury vehicle maker but nothing has been decided on yet for the production model.
The Q60 could share a lot of similarities with the Q50, including the 3.7-liter V6 that's already offered.
