Volkswagen Passenger Cars recorded a solid delivery month in November with volumes up 3.4 percent overall to 522,100 units.

The company sold 504,800 units in Nov. 2012, according to the automaker.

"Our brand's most important model, the Golf, has once again been a strong driver. The latest generation has got off to an excellent start and we will be delivering the 500,000th model this December, just one year after the market launch", Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales and Marketing for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, said in a statement.

The automaker also confirmed it's delivered 5.22 million vehicles during the first 11 months of 2013. This also represents an increase of 3.4 percent compared to the same time last year.

In North America, the delivery level didn't change, as they sold 373,700 units from Jan. through Nov. Approximately 394,100 new models were delivered to customers in the United States during the same time in 2012.

The company sold 2.46 million vehicles in the Asia-Pacific region, compared to 2.12 million during the same time last year, according to Volkswagen.

"We expect to see further momentum from key countries such as China and the USA, where the Golf will be launched shortly," said Klingler. "And we are constantly adding to the Golf family: The new Golf Estate has just gone on sale, and the Golf Sportsvan along with the e-Golf and the Golf Plug-in Hybrid will follow next year."

Year end sales results should be released by early January.
