BMW has revealed its new 2015 M3 sedan and 2015 BMW M4 coupe will officially debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
The vehicles are set to reach showrooms by June 2014 as well, according to the automaker.
The M3 sedan and the M4 coupe will each deliver 425 horsepower thanks to its twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-6 engine. The EPA has not published official fuel economy numbers for either vehicle yet.
The V8 option won't be provided for the lineup, according to BMW.
The cars are capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds when equipped with the seven-speed M double-clutch transmission. They can reach the same speed at 4.1 seconds when equipped with the standard six-speed manual transmission.
"(The cars) will vigorously defend BMW's decades-strong position as segment leader around the world," said the automaker in a statement.
A standard carbon-fiber roof panel helps the vehicle lose some weight compared to its predecessor. The carbon-fiber will be provided for the first time on the sedan and coupe, according to BMW.
The hood, front fenders and much of the suspension were also designed to from "weight-saving" aluminum.
More specifications, pricing, and packages will be announced sometime next year.
