Ferrari's F60 America Supercar Celebrates 60th Anniversary of US Sales

Ferrari is commemorating 60 years of U.S. sales with an extremely exclusive F60 America supercar that will be produced in just 10 models.

Based on the F12 Berlinetta, the F60 America will be unveiled Saturday night in Beverly Hills. Even if you're rich enough to snag one--they're said to be going for around $3.2 million--the 10 models are being sold by invitation only, Motor Authority reported.

Featuring an open-top design, the special F60 will be equipped with the same 6.3-liter V-12 found in the F12 Berlinetta along with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive.

The V-12 produces 729 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 508 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm, Motor Authority reported. Ferrari says the F60 America's zero to 62-mph time is just 3.1 seconds.

To further celebrate Ferrari's anniversary, classic North American Racing Team livery is showcased on the F60's bodywork, while the special Ferrari 60th anniversary Prancing Horse badge on the wheelarches is featured in the cabin, said a company press release.

"The F60 America's personality is instantly clear from its flanks, which are characterized by an innovative diapason design theme," the automaker described. "The front of the car is dominated by the classic Ferrari single front grille with chrome finish and integrated air intakes for the brakes."

For the assymetrical interior, the driver's side features sporty red trim as an accent to the passenger side, which is black.

All 10 units of the limited-edition model have already been spoken for, according to Ferrari. The small number of F60 America units is a nod to the 1967 275 GTS4 NART Spider, which also had only 10 examples.
