2015 Honda CR-V Gets Update for More Power, 'Bolder' Styling

The 2015 Honda CR-V compact SUV has received its most significant mid-model cycle refresh in the car's history and starts at $24,150, which includes $830 in shipping fees.

The pricing for the refreshed CR-V, which will arrive at dealerships on Oct. 1, reflects a $200 jump over the previous model, Edmunds.com reported.

The Honda CR-V competes in the popular compact SUV segment with the Ford Escape, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Jeep Cherokee, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4.

The new and updated 2015 lineup includes the midlevel CR-V EX, which starts at $26,250 with shipping; the top-of-the-line CR-V Touring with front-wheel drive starting at $32,350; and the CR-V Touring model with all-wheel drive, which starts at $33,600.

Honda revamped the CR-V's exterior for the 2015 model year, giving it a more assertive look.

"Exterior design changes, including re-styled front and rear bodywork, mirrors and wheels, lend the CR-V a bolder, sportier appearance with unique Honda style," the automaker said in a statement.

The refreshed CR-V runs on a new 185-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder direct-injected engine with a continuously variable transmission, while torque in the updated model increases 11 percent to 181 pound-feet.

The interior has been redesigned and now holds a new configurable center console and new rear console heat and air ventilation ducts, while a 7-inch touchscreen interface is available as an option.

The CR-V EX version includes the 7-inch display screen; a 10-way power driver's seat; heated front seats; a safety system called Honda LaneWatch; smart entry and push-button start; and LED daytime running lights.
