New Reddit App Makes It Easy To See 'Ask Me Anything' Answers

Reddit is introducing an app for its "Ask Me Anything" feature that is intended to help users connect with the celebrities, notables and everyday people who answer questions in the chats.

While AMA discussions are an important part of the site, the chats can become cluttered due to the high volume of questions, and the new mobile app is an attempt to streamline the process, CNET reported.

The new app, which is available now for iOS and expected to roll out soon for Android, opens to a list of the most recent AMA chats. The website allowed unanswered questions to keep piling up, but the app will take users through recent AMAs and show each question that actually received an answer.

"We want to make it easier for new users to join Reddit and experience all the awesome content," said Ellen Pao, senior VP at Reddit who oversees the company's mobile efforts, as quoted by Variety. "That's part of the overall goal of becoming a more mature company."

The app's home screen can also take users to a list of AMA categories, including entertainment, music, politics, art and food, according to CNET.

Reddit has doubled its unique users annually since it launched in 2005 and reported 133 unique monthly users as of August.

"We're excited and happy to grow but we've never been super proactive about it, it's always been done organically," said Pao, according to Variety. "Now it's time to be more proactive and grow."
