Volvo Sensus Connect Now Standard on All 2015.5 Models

Volvo Sensus Connect will be a standard feature on all 2015.5 Volvo vehicles.

The service is the automaker's answer to competitors like GM's OnStar.

New models include the 2015 Volvo S60 and XC70, which are on sale now at all Volvo dealerships found inside the United States.

Interested customers can try out the Swedish automaker's Sensus Connect, Volvo On Call, and the Volvo On Call smartphone app at any Volvo showroom as well, according to the automaker.

"Sensus Connect was developed to support customers' growing needs to access infotainment that would be most useful when in the car and is intended to enhance the day-to-day Volvo ownership experience," the automaker said in a statement this week.

A free smartphone app is available with every 2015.5 Volvo vehicle.

The app shows the Volvo's current location, the vehicle fuel level, if windows and doors are locked, and a whole lot more.

The connected car platform comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot, Internet, phone and text-message access, 3G connectivity services powered by AT&T, in-car infotainment apps and 24/7 call center support with in-car roadside assistance, according to the automaker.

Volvo owners that upgrade to a navigation system on their 2015.5 Volvo will be given lifetime map updates and a new 3D feature.
