2015 Chevy Silverado Gets Rally 2 Package Option

Chevrolet is launching a special trim package for the 2015 Silverado called Rally 2 that adds 22-inch alloy wheels and other new features.

The Rally 2 option is an attempt to face off against higher-end pickup models from competitors Ford and Ram, Automotive News reported.

The new package, which will be available from Chevy dealers in the fall, has exterior touches that include "a body-colored grille with a black bowtie, 22-inch black alloy wheels, black tubular side steps and black mirror caps and door handles," according to General Motors.

The Silverado brand is additionally introducing two Rally 1 packages for 2015, one for LT Silverados and one for Silverado LS models.

The LT option comes with exterior touches such as black door handles and mirror caps, 17-inch aluminum wheels and a body-colored grill with a black bowtie. For the 2015 Silverado LS, the Rally 1 package includes the body-colored grill and bowtie, black door handles and mirror caps as well as two black rally stripes.

The Silverado LT's Rally 2 package will cost $7,160 or $7,260, depending on cab configuration, according to USA TODAY.

"Silverado won more awards in 2014 than any other pickup, including North American Truck of the Year," John Fitzpatrick, Silverado senior marketing manager, said in a statement. "The Rally Edition packages will let customers add an aggressive new look to this great all-around performer."

Chevy dealers can start ordering Rally packages on Sept. 4 for extended-cab pickup models and in early October for crew-cab versions.
