Audi to Sponsor The Emmy Awards for Fourth Straight Year

The new 2015 Audi Q3 premium compact crossover will be showcased at the 66th Emmy Awards, Audi of America confirmed in a release on Aug. 18.

The theme of the new promotional campaign will be 'life is more interesting when you go off script."

The campaign is aimed at first-time luxury crossover buyers, according to the automaker.

"Audi is thrilled to be returning as a sponsor of the Television Academy and we are excited to support and recognize television's top talent," said Loren Angelo, Director of Marketing for Audi of America. "The brand's multi-platform collaboration with the Academy and NBCUniversal continues to underscore our long-standing presence within the entertainment industry year after year, according to the company release. We look forward to honoring Hollywood's brightest stars and introducing the all-new Audi Q3, demonstrating the brand's devotion to style, technology and performance on television's biggest night."

Audi said its new campaign will feature exclusive social media content during the Emmy Awards.

Ads will feature cameos by stars like Krysten Ritter, J.B. Smoove and "Saturday Night Live" alum Norm Macdonald.

Interested customers can expect the new Q3 to reach U.S. dealerships this fall.

The automaker designed the new Q3 to compete for sales against the likes of the new BMW X1, Buick Encore, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and Volkswagen Tiguan, among other vehicles.

A fleet of Audi Q3 vehicles will displayed at several Television Academy events as part of the Emmy festivities, according to the automaker.

"Audi knows the importance of event-driven premium video programming and connecting that with the content we created specifically for real-time social integrations on the day of the Emmy Awards drives very powerful viewer engagement," said Sari Feinberg, Senior Vice President, Client Solutions, Advertising Sales, NBCUniversal, according to the release.. "This partnership reflects our commitment to deliver a comprehensive creative experience so our advertisers can reach our diverse audiences across all platforms in a meaningful way."

The brand's luxury flagship vehicle, the 2015 Audi A8 L TDI, will chauffeur a number of select guests to the big award show.

The Emmy Awards show is set to take place live on Monday, Aug. 25 on NBC at 8 ET/ 5 PT.

For the fifth consecutive year, the automaker will also host its pre-Emmy celebration on Thursday, August 21 at Cecconi's in West Hollywood.
