Son Surprises Mom With Dream Saab 99 EMS Coupe (VIDEO)

Back in 2011, Corey Wadden decided that he was going to try earning $1 million by the time he turned 25 to provide for his mother with a retirement, something that she hasn't been able to save for herself while working before losing her job.

Though he's not close to his goal, Wadden managed to surprise his mom with a different present: her dream car.

Wadden said that his mother had spent years talking about wanting an old Saab until finally he had her tell him which car it was that she wanted. The vehicle she had longed for was a 1973 Saab 99 EMS coupe.

"A lot of people have been asking why her dream car is the Saab '73 99 EMS," Wadden said on his YouTube page. "My mom used to clean houses for a living, and one of the houses she would clean for a few years was a guy who owned a 70's Saab 99. He would throw her the keys and let her move the car all the time and she fell in love with it."

The thoughtful son said that it took a year to find the vehicle in the right color and have it sent to his house.

Wadden said that his mom was also without a car as well before he tracked down and purchased the Saab.

After tricking her into thinking she was being filmed for a documentary, Wadden surprised his mom with her dream car.

"You're kidding me!" she said, in disbelief.

"2.5 years ago, my mom lost her job and I set off on a challenge to earn enough money to financially retire her," Wadden said. "I haven't been successful yet, but this is a big milestone in helping to improve her life. She hasn't had a car in a year, and the one before that was falling apart."

His mom's reaction at around the 1:17 mark of the video below is priceless.

As a side note, the company that lifted Swedish automaker Saab out of bankruptcy is facing financial issues of its own.

On Aug. 12, a supplier petitioned a Swedish court to declare National Electric Vehicle of Sweden (Nevs) bankrupt.
