Dodge has unveiled the new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, a four-door sedan touted as the fastest and most powerful muscle car in the country and the quickest sedan in the world. 

Slated for production starting early next year, the new Charger SRT Hellcat will run on a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine generating 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, according to the automaker.

The V-8 engine, which is matched with an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, can take the Hellcat from zero to 100 mph in less than 13 seconds and reaches a top speed of 204 mph.

"For the last eight years, a large part of the Dodge Charger's successful formula has been its many personalities. It's a muscle car, a performance sedan, a family capable sedan; its success is that it can be any or all of those things, depending on how the customer chooses to equip their car," Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of the Dodge and SRT brands, said in a statement.

"And now, with a NHRA-certified quarter mile time of 11 seconds and a 204-mph top speed, the new 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat redefines itself again, as the quickest, fastest, most powerful sedan in the world," Kuniskis said. 

The Charger Hellcat comes standard with both a red and a black key fob; the red taps into the car's maximum horsepower, while the black maintains a reduced engine output.  The sedan features five different driving modes: Custom, Sport, Track, Default, and Eco.

The Custom mode lets the driver "personalize" the Hellcat's performance; Sport increases vehicle performance; Default is the initial mode when the vehicle is started; Track offers maximum performance on smooth, dry surfaces; and Eco maximizes fuel economy.
