2015 Cadillac Escalade Platinum Starts at $90,270

General Motors has announced pricing for the fully optioned 2015 Cadillac Escalade Platinum that is expected in dealerships later this year.

The top-of-the-line Platinum model, which should be available in the U.S. in the fourth quarter, starts at $90,270 including $995 in destination fees, Edmunds.com reported. For the base 2015 Cadillac Escalade, pricing begins at $73,965 with shipping, which reflects a $1,275 increase over the previous model. Both versions have a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Escalade Platinum comes with 18-way power front seats with a massage function for the driver's seat. The interior is also equipped with two 7-inch LCD screens that are placed in the front headrests to be viewed by the second row, while the exterior features include 22-inch wheels, chrome accents and a special grille mesh design.

All models have 4G LTE connectivity with a WiFi hotspot as well as a Surround View camera system for better driving visibility.

The top-of-the-line Platinum option is new, and the Escalade has been revamped for the 2015 model year. The model competes in its segment with the Lexus LX 570, Lincoln Navigator and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, according to Edmunds.

The 2015 Escalade, which arrived in dealerships earlier this year, is intended to challenge other luxury SUVs with its new updates.

"Since the launch just a few months ago, the next-generation Escalade has proved exceptionally desirable among luxury SUV buyers," Uwe Ellinghaus, Cadillac chief marketing officer, said in a statement. "Now, within the same year we are able to elevate the Escalade line with the Platinum Collection, as well as deliver enhancements through the entire Escalade range."
