Samsung Note 4 Could be Revealed Before Apple's iPhone 6

As Apple is apparently preparing an iPhone-related media event for September 9, rival company Samsung is now teasing its own event six days earlier, where it is expected to unveil its next-generation Note smartphone device.

Journalists have been receiving invitations from Samsung saying to "note the date" of Sept. 3, when the company is set to host an event in Beijing, Berlin, and New York.

Samsung's Note 4 phablet-like smartphone will likely be introduced at the event, according to AppleInsider.com.

The timing isn't just interesting because Apple is expected to release a new iPhone, but also because it is expected to release its own "phablet" 5.5-inch iPhone before the end of 2014.

A 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch "iPhone 6" devices are rumored to be unveiled at Apple's highly-anticipated Sept. event.

The company usually releases its new iPhone the following Friday, so people should be able to buy an iPhone 6 device on Sept. 19.

Apple might be dealing with some issues in manufacturing the 5.5-inch device, meaning it might be released after the 4.7-inch option is made available.

The current Galaxy Note 3 was unveiled at IFA Berlin last year on Sept. 4, and comes with a 5.7-inch display. The device wasn't made available for purchase until Sept. 25. This means that while the Note device might be revealed first, it might not beat the iPhone 6 to shelves.

Recent rumors suggests that this year's "Note 4" will feature an identical screen size.
