2016 Kia Sorento Teased Before 2014 Paris Auto Show Debut

Kia teased its 2016 Kia Sorento SUV ahead of a public unveiling on October 2 at the 2014 Paris Auto Show.

"The new model boasts a lower roofline, higher beltline, more muscular stance, rounded shoulders at the rear and deeply sculpted body surfaces," Kia said in a statement on its website today.

It will debut in Korea next month before the highly-anticipated public unveiling in Paris.

Kia designed its 2016 Sorento at its design studios in Korea, Germany, and in the U.S.

The vehicle will compete against three-row crossovers like the Honda Pilot and Chevrolet Traverse.

The Kia Sorento SUV will also compete with similar vehicles like the Ford Edge, Toyota RAV4, and the Chevrolet Equinox.

As seen in photos revealed by the automaker, the vehicle features a lower roofline and a larger grille.

More information is expected to be released later on this summer.

"At this point we aren't ready to release any additional information," said James Hope, a Kia Motors America spokesman, according to Edmunds.
