2015 Ford F-150 Horsepower, Towing Numbers Confirmed

Ford has released the official towing and horsepower numbers on the two new engines in the full redesigned 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck lineup.

Pricing for the Ford F-150 has not been announced yet by the automaker.

Standard equipment found in the 2015 F-150 includes the aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine, which delivers 283 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque.

In comparison, the 3.7-liter V6 engine in the 2014 F-150 delivers 302 hp and 278 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 found in the 2014 F-150 is capable of delivering 365 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque.

Interested customers can expect the new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with standard automatic stop-start delivers 325 hp and 375 lb.-ft. of torque, according to the automaker.

Ford hasn't provided fuel economy estimates on the engines yet. The EPA hasn't posted any information regarding the new engines either.

Ford hasn't provided performance numbers for the 5.0-liter V8 and a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engines in the 2015 F-150 lineup.

The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine is capable of towing up to 8,500 pounds, according to the automaker.

Ford's standard 3.5-liter V6 engine is capable of towing up to 7,600 pounds.

The new vehicle will reach U.S. dealerships during the fourth quarter of 2014.

Ford expects the 2015 F-150 to compete with the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota Tacoma, and the Ram 1500.
