How Safe is The 2015 Cadillac SRX?

General Motors has announced that the 2015 Cadillac SRX crossover is the latest vehicle to earn a five-star safety rating form the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest crash-test rating a vehicle can receive from the NHTSA.

In the front crash test, the 2015 SRX received four stars, along with five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test, according to the safety administration.

Standard safety equipment found on the 2015 SRX includes antilock brakes and electronic stability control with traction control.

A rearview camera is a standard feature on all Luxury, Performance and Premium Collection vehicles, according to the automaker.

Additional safety features are available as part of the Driver Awareness and Driver Assist packages.

The awareness package is standard with the Premium Collection and optional on Luxury and Performance, according to the automaker.

The package comes with lane-departure warning, Intellibeam high-beam control, forward collision alert, and a safety alert seat.

Luxury, Performance and Premium vehicles also come available with a Driver Assist package option. The package includes automatic collision preparation, front and rear automatic braking, and adaptive cruise control.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not yet rated the new SRX vehicle, according to the automaker.

The Cadillac SRX competes with a number of vehicles, including the Lexus RX 350 and Lincoln MKX .

In comparison, the 2015 Lexus RX 350 and Lincoln MKX both earned a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.
