Ford Recalls 100,566 Vehicles for Six Safety Issues

Ford has issued a set of six recalls for various issues that affect 100,566 vehicles in North America altogether.

The automaker announced the six separate recalls on Tuesday, noting that no injuries have been reported in connection with the safety issues, the Associated Press reported.

Of the recalls, the biggest affects 92,022 vehicles, including the 2013 and 2014 Taurus, Lincoln MKS, and Police Interceptor sedans, the Flex and Lincoln MKT crossovers, the 2012-2014 Edge and 2014 Lincoln MKX. The right-hand halfshaft could have a flaw that results in "a loss of drive function," Edmunds.com reported.

The recall should start on Aug. 25, a Ford spokeswoman told Edmunds.

Ford said in a statement to Edmunds that the halfshaft may have not been properly placed during assembly.

"If the half-shaft becomes fully disengaged from the linkshaft, vehicles may experience loss of drive function," the automaker said. "Additionally, this condition may result in unexpected vehicle movement if the gearshift is placed in Park without the parking brake being activated."

Ford is also recalling 5,264 2011-2014 F59 commercial stripped chassis due to potential corrosion that can become a fire hazard. Additionally, the automaker has issued a callback for 2,124 Escape SUVs. Escape vehicles from the 2014 model year have potentially faulty panoramic glass roofs that can leak or fall out.

Affected owners can reach Ford at 1-800-392-3673.
