Physicist and author Christopher Keating is offering up $10,000 of his own money to anyone who can disprove man-made global warming.

"I have heard global warming skeptics make all sorts of statements about how the science doesn't support claims of man-made climate change," Keating said in a blog post this week. "I have found all of those statements to be empty and without any kind of supporting evidence. I have, in turn, stated that it is not possible for the skeptics to prove their claims. And, I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is."

Keating will be the final judge of the entries. Participants have to submit their own proofs and then he will critique them, according to the post.

There is no entry fee to enter the contest, though you must be 18 years old or older to enter. Entries don't have to be original, they just need to be submitted first, according to Keating.

The physicist said he will provide comments on why any entry fails to prove the point.

"After all, the skeptics all claim it is a simple matter, and it doesn't even have to be original. If it is so easy, just cut and paste the proof from somewhere. Provide the scientific evidence and prove your point and the $10,000 is yours!"

Skeptics include political radio host Rush Limbaugh, who feels strongly that global warming isn't real.

"These climate scientists, try to tell you they do know. But if you can just try to get your mind around this one concept, how do we know that what it is when we happen to be alive is what is normal for all time? Because these deviations are only relevant if what is happening now is normal," said Limbaugh recently on his radio show. "Well, let's say, for example, that the warming they claim, let's just play a little hypothetical, let's say it is warming, even though it isn't, let's say it's warming and we're headed for the devastation that these people say is waiting for us a hundred years from now. Well, what if that's what's normal is?  What if where we're going is what normal is? How do we know?"

Keating emphasized that the contest is no joke: if you're able to legitimately prove that global warming isn't real, by using scientific evidence, he will write you a check.

Keating has received over 250 submissions already. So far no one has won the prize money.
