2015 Buick Enclave Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From NHTSA

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced this week that the 2015 Buick Enclave earned a five-star safety rating after putting the vehicle through its standard crash tests.

The vehicle received five stars in front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

Standard equipment found on the new Enclave includes a new front center airbag.

GM's brand new airbag is designed to deploy from the inboard side of the driver's seat and inflates between the driver and front passenger. It provides added protection for both passengers in the event of a side-impact crash.

The Enclave was created to compete for sales against similar vehicles like the 2014-'15 Acura MDX, Lincoln MKT, and Hyundai Santa Fe, among others.

Other safety features include:

-rearview camera system

-panic brake assist

-traction control

Seven airbags can also be found inside the vehicles, including head-curtain side air bags that cover outboard passengers in all three rows.

NHTSA's rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Enclave, according to the safety administration.

The 2015 Buick Enclave has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety yet.
