Chrysler is recalling over 20,000 2014 Ram ProMaster full-size vans to examine and, if necessary, repair a number of electrical components because of a possible corrosion issue.

Chrysler does not know if any injuries or accidents have occurred related to the issue.

"Warranty data identified a small number of cases in which blown fuses were linked to moisture exposure," Chrysler said in a statement this week on its website. "In each case, moisture that was brought into the vehicle via wet footwear or other means had seeped into an in-cabin compartment that houses its battery and other components."

Dealers are being instructed to inspect and replace electrical components that support airbag deployment, external lighting, and propulsion.

Chrysler said that moisture-resistant sealant will be applied to all components, whether the component was replaced or not.

"There are no issues with the vehicle's imperviousness to rain, snow or ice," the automaker added.

Most of the affected Ram ProMaster vehicles were at dealerships or being sent to dealers as the automaker was looking into the issue.

Approximately 21,000 2014 ProMaster vehicles are affected by the recall, according to the automaker.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees U.S. vehicle recalls, has not posted information about the recall on its website yet.
