2015 Kia Forte Receives Slight Price Reduction

The 2015 Kia Forte sedan has been listed for a base price of $16,690, including a shipping fee of $800, according to a company release.

The price means the current car is $10 less than the 2014 model.

The slight price cut reflects the automaker's intention to have the lowest starting price in the segment, according to Kia Motors America spokesman James Hope, who spoke with Edmunds.

"According to our analysis, this reduction gives us the lowest starting price in the segment," Hope said.

Other confirmed prices include:

-$20,190 for the top-of-the-line 2015 Kia Forte EX sedan

-$20,490 for the 2015 Kia Forte Five-Door hatchback

-$19,390 for the 2015 Kia Forte Koup, a two-door coupe

The 2015 Kia Forte, Forte Koup and Forte Five-Door are being sent to U.S. dealerships, Hope said.

The 2015 vehicles were redesigned for the 2014 model year. The 2015 models are carryover, according to the automaker.

Pricing has not been announced for most of the Forte's competition yet, like the 2015 Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.
