2014 Nissan Pathfinder, Rogue, Infiniti QX60 Recalled Over Wheel Issue

Nissan North America is recalling over 300 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, Rogue and Infiniti QX60 crossovers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Approximately 334 vehicles are affected by the recall.

The vehicles have been recalled because a loose lug nut could lead to wheel separation.

"The right side wheels of the affected vehicles may have one lug nut each that was not properly tightened," said NHTSA in its summary of the recall. "If the lug nut becomes loose from not being properly tightened, it may fall off, allowing the other lug nuts to become loose, possibly resulting in a wheel separation, and increasing the risk of a crash."

Nissan told federal safety regulators that the issue was traced to an assembly process error that took place between March 7, 2014 and March 10, 2014.

No other Nissan or Infiniti models are involved in the recall, according to the automaker.

"No accidents or injuries have been reported to Nissan related to this issue," said Steve Yaeger, a Nissan spokesman, according to Edmunds.

Nissan dealers are being instructed to tighten any loose lug nuts, if necessary.

All repairs will be made free of charge.

The recall will begin sometime before the end of June.
