iOS 8: New QuickType Feature Guesses Your Next Word (VIDEO)

Apple has introduced a new predictive typing feature that tries to guess what a user's next word might be, allowing you to choose from three different options.

The new QuickType feature starts suggesting words right away, even before a user types in their first word, according to AppleInsider.com.

Three recommended words are given as iOS 8 learns what words a user prefers and typing habits.

The recommendations will adapt to make typing on an Apple device easier than ever before.

QuickType also adapts if you start deleting characters, recommending words based on the current arrangement of letters behind the cursor, according to Apple Insider.

If you don't like the feature, it can easily be removed.

You can hide the boxes by placing a finger on one of the recommended words and holding before swiping down. To bring the boxes back, tap and drag a finger up off the top off the keyboard to expand the QuickType space.

Apple will also allow users to install their own third-party keyboards, such as Swype, for the first time ever.

Security will be the main issue in virtual keyboards, and Apple has emphasized that any data from its QuickType keyboard or an approved third-party keyboard, will be kept locally on the device and never shared through the cloud, according to Apple Insider.

Apple's latest operating system, iOS 8, is currently in beta for developer testing.

The new OS is expected to be released sometime this fall.
