iPhone 6 Release Date: Next Apple Device Coming Sept. 19?

Apple's next iPhone device may be released on September 19, according to a report by a German website this week.

The site, apfelpage.de, reported that customer service representatives of a carrier in Germany Deutsche Telekom are telling consumers that the next iPhone device will be in stores on the third Friday of September.

Apple has yet to confirm the release date for its next smartphone.

Both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C were made available on Sept. 20, 2013, and the iPhone 5 was launched back on Sept. 21, 2012.

The iPhone 4S became available for purchase in October 2011.

If Apple follows its release date trend, the next iPhone, expected to be called the iPhone 6, will likely arrive first in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, China, Canada, Germany, France, Singapore, and Japan.

If the rumor is true, Apple will likely announce the device on Sept. 9, or ten days before making the device available for purchase.

The iPhone 6 will come with a 4.7-inch screen display. Another model with a 5.5-inch display is expected to debut as early as this October, though it could be pushed back until January.

Rumored specs for the next iPhone device include: 1704 x 960 pixel resolution, a faster A8 processor, a thinner profile, bezel-free design, camera upgrades, and a more durable, sapphire screen.

A new operating system that the next iPhone will likely use is expected to debut at the 2014 WWDC next month.
