McLaren to Debut $210,000 Sports Car at 2015 Geneva Show

A new McLaren P13 sports car will be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show, according to a report by Edmunds.

The vehicle will hit dealerships in the fall of 2015 with a base price of approximately $210,000.

The production model will receive a different name, and is expected to be around the same size as the McLaren 650S.

Like the new McLaren, the P13 will be a midengine two-seater, though it will be more practical, according to McLaren Managing Director Mike Flewitt.

"It's got to be usable, with easy ingress and egress and good storage on board," he said, according to Edmunds.

Flewitt added that "it's difficult to style midengine cars to look different, not least for cooling reasons; side-mounted radiators dictate a lot of style."

Expect the vehicle to compete with similar models like the Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Audi R8 V10, among others.

The vehicle will come with a version of the 650S' 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, and should be able to go from 0-62 in approximately 4.0 seconds. This would be around a second slower than the 650S.

It will have a top speed of 185 mph rather than 207 mph as well, according to Edmunds.

"P13 will be a very engaging car to drive. It will be fun but safe," said Flewitt.

Make sure to check back once more information regarding the new McLaren vehicle is released by the automaker.

The Geneva Auto Show usually takes place in March, so McLaren fans will have to wait a little while until the vehicle debuts officially.
