Base 2015 Subaru Legacy Starts at $22,490

Subaru has announced that the base 2015 Subaru Legacy will be available for a base price of $22,490, including a $795 shipping fee.

The new price is a $1,400 increase when compared to the base 2014 Subaru Legacy.

Subaru said customers can expect the new model to come equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), according to a company press release.

The 2014 base vehicle is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

Compared to the 2014 Subaru Legacy with a CVT, the price of the base 2015 Legacy with a CVT is just $400 more.

Option packages available for the 2015 model includes: a $1,195 Moonroof package and a $1,195 package that comes with blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and Subaru's EyeSight safety system, according to the automaker.

Subaru also confirmed that the top-of-the-line Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited will be available for a base price of $30,390, including shipping.

"The new Legacy is built at Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA). SIA this year celebrates ten years as a Zero Landfill Facility and continues to be the only U.S. automotive plant designated as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation," said Subaru in the release.

The Legacy competes in the same segment as similar models like the 2014 Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, and Volkswagen Passat, among others.

Interested customers can expect the redesigned Legacy to reach dealerships sometime this summer.
