2014 Dodge Durango Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From NHTSA

The 2014 Dodge Durango SUV recently earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating a vehicle can receive for a crash test conducted by the NHTSA.

The 2014 Durango received five stars in the side crash test, and four stars in the front crash test, according to the NHTSA.

The rating applies to the two-wheel-drive and the four-wheel-drive versions Durango options.

The two-wheel-drive vehicle earned four stars in the rollover crash test, while the four-wheel-drive option earned three stars in the rollover crash test.

Standard features found on the Durango include seven airbags, electronic stability control and traction control.

Optional safety features include: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection are also available, adaptive cruise control with stop, forward collision warning with crash mitigation, and Uconnect Access with 911 call and roadside assistance.

The Duragno competes with similar vehicles like the Ford Explorer, Hyundai Santa Fe, and the Nissan Pathfinder.

The 2014 Durango also earned "Good" ratings in every crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, including the moderate overlap front crash test.
