Toyota has announced it is moving its U.S. sales headquarters from southern California to Dallas, according to Reuters.

The relocation will put most of the Japanese automaker's U.S. operations under one roof, including manufacturing, quality, marketing, advertising, service and sales, according to Reuters, who cited two people familiar with "the company's plans."

Toyota isn't the only company to move its headquarters to Texas this year.

In February, Occidental Petroleum Corp. announced that it would move its headquarters from Los Angeles to Houston.

Toyota executives were told of the move on April 25, according to Reuters.

Employees received an email on April 27 letting them know of a Monday morning webcast from Jim Lentz, chief executive of Toyota North America.

Toyota spokeswoman Julie Hamp failed to confirm the move, but did confirm the webcast.

The new headquarters is expected to house at least three subsidiaries, including Toyota Motor Sales USA, Toyota Financial Services and Toyota Engineering and Manufacturing North America.

The move will begin in August and is expected to be finalized by 2016, according to Reuters.

Toyota established operations in California in 1957 and is the second Japanese automaker to relocate from the Los Angeles area.

In 2006, Nissan moved most of its operations to Franklin, Tennessee.
